Report from the August 18th time trial:
Sorry about last week there were actually 3 riders the week before. It looked like bad weather, but although part of the course was wet it did not rain. Steve Phillips Mike Brock, and Phillip Thrower all ran the course that week. Mr. Thrower had a flat and DNF, Mike went on a rescue mission, and I did what I could by going home and eating dinner. This past Thursday Phillip came back to run again and put in a time of 32.55, not bad for his first official run this year. I hope to see you all out running next week.

Reports from the June 23rd time trial:
Dear time trial enthusiasts,
Last week will just have to be the last time I miss. I mean with some of the unbelievably fast times sent back to me I really want to be there to watch people set fire to this course! Mike Villalonga went so fast he was talking to himself on the way out but didn't hear what he said until he was riding back in!! David Graves left his house in Brandon on his bike at 5:15 did the time trial and was back home sipping a mint julip by 6:30 And finally our beloved Owen Munton was late, didn't start till after dark and actually had to slow down because he was outrunning his head lamp! on a unicycle no less!! Well thanks for sending me these wonderful times see ya next week.
David Gibbs
25:10 it would have been faster but there was bit of a head wind.
Mike Villalonga
Dear Michael,
When listing your time please include both out AND back, not just your time
for half the course. So, that would mean roughly your time would have been
about 50 minutes for the 12 miles (I "cut you a little slack" since the course
is downhill coming back). Keep working hard and I am sure that you will
improve.
Best wishes,
Lance Armstrong
(who just happens
to be using Dave
Beckett's computer)
Mike was on his mountain bike too. My time was 26:18, but I rode my unicycle and forgot to wear my skinsuit.
Owen
Report from the June 9th time trial:
Hello everyone, This was a much better week for the TT, we had 3 participants. The course was great, it didn't rain on them. Well anyway here are the times.
Chris Pike 33.54 this was his 1st run and that is a great time Chris!
Steve 31.29 He said his legs were tired I wish I were that fast tired
Brandon Guillory 28.1 Again tired legs from a triathlon he says he will break the course record in 2, count em 2 weeks. Good luck with that Brandon.
That's all for now, come on out next week and join the fun.
David
Report from the may 19th Time Trial:
First my apologies I was unable to attend, and also unable to verify that a replacement would attend. But low and behold Chris West stepped up and recorded the times for all 4 riders.
Robyn Ryder 31.51 PB
Steve Phillips 31.20
Chris 29.39
Tyler West bout 45.00 new rider
Report from the May 12th time trial:
What a week at the time trial! Chris West's rear tire was rubbing his frame badly he said he was dying trying to keep the pedals turning. The book that I keep everyone's time in was stolen from the side of the trail when I was ridding to Clyde and back( I think it was Villalonga). Anyway here are the times of the 4 brave souls on the trial
Robyn 32.18
Steve 31.38 after a 25 mile warm up
Cary 30.48
Chris 30.36 with tire rub
That is also the order they went out, so nice job. By the way getting a little worried about Beckett he has not been in a while someone check his office and make sure the administration has not kidnapped him.
See you next week
David
Report from the April 28th time trial:
Mike Brock 35.19
Steve 31.47
Butch E 31.44
Chris W 30.21
Brandon 28.32
Matt 28.06 Very Fast
Now we have had a ongoing discussion for a couple years about the safety of this time trial, and whether or not we could hold it someplace safer. I am open to suggestions please, email me with them.
Now here is where I am on the subject. The course we currently run is about 12 miles long. It is the only section or the trail that has that length but only crosses 1 paved road, also it is about 6 miles from USM so most people do not come out this far. Now I am not suggesting that we do not have to be careful whenever you are on a bike going 20 mph + you need to use common sense and caution. There are slower bikers, children, walkers, joggers, and skaters plus the occasional golf cart we need to watch for. It is the individuals responsibility to make sure they now there surroundings. Please be careful this Time trial is not a sanctioned event it is just for fun and your own personnel records I will continue to keep time and email results weekly no problem.
So remember whether you go on this TT or ride in a pace line going 20 mph + down rails to trails you need to be careful and respect other users of the trail.
Other locations mentioned by some of the bikers include starting at Clyde depot to Epley and back( Shorting the length ) starting at Epley Road and going to 42 and back. Bonhommie again and Hwy 98 from I 59 to Wal mart and back. I am not sure if I agree that riding on a public road with cars and trucks is safer, but again I am open to suggestions. Thanks © David
